The season is spring, and the remaining patches of snow are melting. The weather is warming gradually, it's getting up into the 70's during the day and at night its going down into the 50's. Some mares are looking for mates, and are in heat. The flowers are blooming, the sun is shining, it really is a new beginning.

Lucifer huffed impatiently. His black eyes roved over his new home. Correction. His new royal home. It was nighttime and with the stars brought chillyness. He liked it better this way than all hot and sticky in his 'perfect' home. To tell you the truth, he hated this place right down to it's perfect-for-grass-growing soil. He missed his stormy waters of Noir Plage, his old home. But Lucifer didn't talk about that with anybody. And everybody was smart enough not to ask. Most everybody, anyway. His impatience was due to his waiting for his new queen. A lot of 'his' in this picture. He had yet to meet her, had yet to see her 'brilliance'. Of course, deep down he knew that she would be brilliant, but he didn't want to believe it until he saw her.
Lucifer once more glanced at his new land. He was standing very near the crashing waterfall, occasionally gazing down at the churning waters below. He was attracted to this place only because of the water. He missed his old water; his home water. This was just average water that was exciting only because there was a fifty foot drop between the top where he stood, and the bottom. But it would do for him. The sky above him was an inky black, the moon seemed to perch on top of a few trees off to the west. Lucifer sighed again. So far his new home held nothing spectacular. He sighed one more, forlorn sigh, and then began to stalk off towards the moon.
It began to drizzle lightly, making Lucifer all the more tolerant of his home. It seemed to have a cooling sensation on his nerves. His body was less taut, his mind less reeling. But his eyes still showed boredom. He opened his maw, and let out a blood-curdling scream. Lucifer was done waiting, and when he was done waiting, that something that he wanted should've been there yesterday. Of course, he wouldn't bite Rayne's face off. She was, after all, his queen. Respect had to be shown for her or this whole thing wouldn't go down with either of them.
Lucifer began drifting over to their large cave, filled with labyrinths he was not about to go exploring. It's open mouth was black and empty, just like everything else seemed to be in his world at this point. He wondered for a few moments about what Rayne would look like, what she would act like. He was definitely curious, hearing about the sons that she turned out. Lucifer leaned his tired body against the cave. It felt clammy beneath him, but he stayed leaning against it, waiting for Rayne to heed his call.

If one never knows who they have not met how can things go down the way they were planned to go down? Confusion filled rayne's blurry mind. Not one thing inpaticular was set on her mind. She had nothing to do at the moment. But soon she would. She stood on the complete opisite side that her king lucifer stood on. She was not looking forward to meeting him right now. She wandered if he was as big of an ass as she thought he would be. Rayne sighed gently, as she looked up at the black sky above. The moon was full and brighter than ever. She'd never seen it so bright before. It had an interesting glow to it. She tilted her head to the side slightly as she looked into the sky. She lowered her neck back down and began grazing once more. Bordum struck her brain right as she heard a blood curdling whinny. Lucifer. Was the only thing that can to her mind. She couldn't help but laugh. Was he that impatient waiting for her? Apparently he was. She looked around once or twice, before she began walking towards his call.
Rayne's black and white coat shone slightly in the glow of the moon as she started to walk towards her kings call. She wasn't looking forward to meeting him for the first time very much. She stopped and lifted her neck up high and whinnied back letting him know that she was on her way. She had no idea how long it would take her to get to him. She lowered her neck a bit then arched it before taking off at a slow canter. Before long she was at a full gallop. She had just barely made it to the waterfall where she thought she heard his call, when she started to tire. She lowered her neck and let her lips just barely skim the water at the edge, before taking some of it into her system. She stopped drinking as she backed away from the water. Her lips were now soaked with teh water she had taken in. She sighed and slightly snorted.
Rayne started to walk around the waterfall and started walking around the side where there was a slight path already made. She started hiking up it, to where lucifer was.

The rain began to fall in heavy sheets now, making visabilty poor. Lucifer trotted swiftly into the dark and damp cave, shaking the water droplets that had stuck to him off. He snorted, about to lean against the inside of the cave, but his ears pricked. A whinny echoed around the land that was meant for him. From Rayne. Excitement mounted inside of Lucifer. She was finally coming. But the call sounded distant, so for all he knew she could be on the other side of the waterfall. So he waited for a few minutes patiently. And then he guessed that she was on the other side because she wasn't there yet. Lucifer was having his patience and his tolerance tested at this point, but no actions were made.
The stallion looked outside to see if she was meandering up the path, but all he saw was dense fog. He wondered once more about Rayne. If she really looked immortal, if she didn't think much of him... Things that he normally wouldn't care if she wasn't his high queen. He wondered if there would be an heir to the throne one day. Lucifer snorted at the thought. That wasn't something to think about so early in the relationship. They'd never met, he'd never even seen her before!
Pushing the bothersome thoughts from his mind, he continued to look out of the mouth of the cave, his ears pricked at the slightest noise. Just as he was beginning to slip into a daze, he heard light hoof-falls up the bath. Lucifer scrambled outside, slipping and sliding on the slippery rock. There she was, hiking up the hill to him. She was very beautiful. The breath that Lucifer was saving to greet her was caught in his throat. All of that impatience and waiting was worth it to see her. He forgot that he wasn't pleased to be kept waiting, but she was a goddess. Something inside his head told him that he wasn't worthy enough to rule with her, but he pushed it away.
Lucifer dipped his proud head in a bow, and then began to look over her with his roving eyes. They said she was immortal, but she looked no older than three or four, while himself aged and worn-looking with scars and tangles in his mane and tail. He eventually stopped looking, and made an attempt to speak. "Rayne. It's most... wonderful to meet you. Though it was a wait, I think it was worth it." Lucifer's voice was barely louder than a whisper, yet it was sharp and she would hear it. He turned back toward the cave, then, seeing as she wasn't following, he beckoned her to come with him. The stallion once more began slipping on the path, but he made it to the top.
Lucifer waited anxiously at the mouth of the cave for his new queen to come to him.
